1 · Open the plans. Plans → Open plans (the PDF set). Scan the foundation sheet (the S sheet): the app reads the footings, walls, piers, slabs, anchor bolts and the notes off it — the scale is set off the printed dimensions and every leg is checked against them. No foundation sheet? Build it off the house plan, or trace it: E 40, S 28, W 20, N 10, W 20, N 18 on Walls & forms.
2 · Check it. Walls & forms — height, thickness, steel, forms (Symons panels, corners and fillers worked out); Footings; Slabs; 3D & anchors — bolts miss the studs above. Job rules (header) is where the company's way of doing it lives: stack, waste, hardware, bolts, gravel.
3 · Hand it out. Form plan → the 24 × 36 plan with panels, hardware and the sheet markup · Pour & rebar → yards, the rebar schedule · Order → what to order.
Offline: once it has opened, it runs with no signal. Jobs save on the device; Save job / Load job moves them between people.
Reads the sheet's own text and line work: title, scale, window & door schedules, every wall with its length, and the marks on each wall. Nothing is guessed — lengths are checked against the printed dimensions.
For photos, scans and PDFs with no text layer. Box the walls (or the schedule) first for a sharper read; with no boxes it reads the whole sheet in tiles.
Every note block on every sheet — general, framing, structural, foundation, roof, keynotes, the schedules' notes — and the callouts that give a number. What a note sets is on Job rules, marked “from plans” with the note (your own number on the job still wins). Tick a field note to put it on the crew sheets.
Scan a sheet first. Every wall is editable — tap one to change its length, height, stud or openings. Lengths are outside-to-outside on exterior walls (what the printed dimensions give) and face-to-face on interior walls.
Scanning a sheet with a schedule fills this in. Every mark can be dropped onto an opening, and you can attach the manufacturer's sheet to a mark.
Lengths, areas and counts you take off the sheet. Tap a line to make it a wall. Everything here saves with the job.
Questions answered from this sheet's text and what's on screen — "what's the header over D04?", "list every 2x6 interior wall", "what ceiling height is called out?".
